Telegram is a free messaging app. It takes about a minute to set up.
Step 1 — Install it on your phone
- Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android).
- Search for “Telegram”.
- Tap Install / Get.
- Open the app and sign up with your phone number.
- You'll get a verification code via SMS — enter it to finish setup.
Important: Set up Telegram on your phone first. You won't be able to log in on a computer without the mobile app.
Step 2 — Install it on your computer (optional)
- On your computer, go to telegram.org/apps.
- Download the version for your OS (Windows, Mac, or Linux), then install and launch it.
- Choose “Log in by QR code”.
- On your phone, go to Settings → Devices → Link Desktop Device.
- Point your phone's camera at the QR code on your computer screen.
Tip: Once you're logged in on your PC, you can uninstall the mobile app if you wish — but we recommend keeping it for quick access on the go.
Once Telegram is installed, come back to this page and tap Open in Telegram above.
